Between many information that you can find in many sites can be, public health advice for those going to or returning from Bird flu-affected areas. It contains information on this potentially serious disease and the precautions you should take to help protect yourself. Travellers should be aware that cases of a severe form of bird flu are occurring in poultry and wild birds in some parts of the world. Other kind of information that you can find are Government strategies and policies aimed at providing a broad range of health care services and facilities. The Department of Health works to define policy and guidance for delivering a social care system that provides care equally for all, whilst enabling people to retain their independence, control and dignity. High quality health and social care services should be delivered in a person centred way that respects the dignity of the individual receiving them.
Public health department like many institutions try to have the same option for the population but unfortunately, older people are not always treated with the respect they deserve. Through our work on dignity in care we want to create zero tolerance of lack of dignity in the care of older people, in any care setting. It is important to inspire and equip local people, be they service users, carers, relatives or care staff with the information, advice and support they need to take action to drive up standards of care with respect to dignity for individual.
Health departments have the obligation to re-education and that the families try to be tolerant and of course respect the old people. Maybe the health department jobs, have the option to give some help and maybe options of that the family understand the process that mean to be old citizen and this is a little part that needs to be checked and that the families with life with old citizen that have the capacity to understand and to help in the process. Remember this situation is part of the services that any community needs.
Lack of respect for an individual’s dignity in care can take many forms and the experience may differ from person to person and some good examples of them are feeling neglected or ignored whilst receiving care that sometimes this situation is really normal at home, or maybe feeling their privacy was not being respected during intimate care, being forced to use a commode in hospital rather than being provided with a wheelchair and supported to use the bathroom. Some particular situation where the people do matter the old citizen can be when old citizen went into hospital and the food and drinks that they need, but they are not unable to eat or drink unaided being left on trolleys, because it is normal or maybe common that between the meal times to have the option to visit your old people and help of course, it is important and necessary that you know that not only the health department has the obligation.
